We are aware of practice system issues in practices relating to the wider IT issues across the country. All Jayex systems are not directly affected and are fully operational.

The Customer

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust serves a large constituency, and sought a solution from Jayex to replace their legacy digital signage system. They aimed to enhance efficiency, streamline patient check-in, and improve the experience for visually impaired and non-English speaking patients.

The Challenge

The main challenges they faced included:

  • Delivering a solution which would meet the needs of the hospitals and the population of East Sussex for years to come
  • Finding a way to reduce queues and congestion at two hospital sites
  • Ensuring any solutions were implemented rapidly and achieved efficiency savings
  • Finding ways to improve patient experience for visually impaired and non-English speaking patients

The Solution

In July 2017, the patient self-check-in solution, Enlighten, was installed at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust’s two general hospitals, Conquest and Eastbourne DGH. This system provided patients with easy-to-use touch screens for check-in, reduced waiting room queues, saved administrative time and costs, offered multilingual support, improves accessibility for visually impaired patients, and automates processes while providing detailed analytics for staff.

The Result

“The system has proved extremely helpful in meeting accessible information standards, in particular, its multi-lingual functions have made providing healthcare to the whole community much easier.”
